Kreol Travel Retail introduces BMB’s pistachio kunafa chocolate at Cochin Duty Free
Kreol Travel Retail has launched BMB’s Petit Gourmet Pistachio Kunafa Chocolate at Cochin Duty Free, bringing the Dubai-crafted confectionery product to travellers in India for the first time.
The launch marks the latest expansion of Kreol’s confectionery portfolio in travel retail and reflects the distributor’s strategy of introducing distinctive regional products to international passengers. To support the debut, Kreol installed a large-scale in-store activation featuring golden palm trees and a themed photo frame inspired by the product’s Dubai origins.
Kreol Group CEO, Lal Arakulath
Kreol Group CEO, Lal Arakulath said: “Our partnership with BMB continues to grow as we introduce innovative, high-quality products to travellers across the region. Kunafa Chocolate has performed exceptionally well in multiple markets, and its debut at Cochin Duty Free aligns perfectly with our mission to offer travellers something unique, memorable and culturally rich.”
Kreol Group Executive Director, Kreol Arakulath added: “We are confident this launch will be warmly received by both Indian consumers and international passengers. What makes us different is the family-size spin on the viral pistachio chocolate trend, so we’ve designed our activation to communicate the large, chunky size of this bar.”
The BMB brand is part of Agthia Group, a regional food and beverage company with a broad portfolio spanning snacking, water, beverages and food essentials across the Middle East and beyond.
Cochin International Airport Managing Director, S Suhas said: “Cochin Duty Free has always aimed to offer travellers a curated selection of global products that enhance their journey through our airport. The introduction of BMB’s Kunafa Chocolate adds a distinctive Middle Eastern flavour to our retail mix and strengthens our commitment to delivering fresh, high-quality offerings.”
Evgenia Papageorgiou, Director of Marketing, Snacking at Agthia Group, described the launch as an important step for the brand’s international travel retail expansion: “We are thrilled to see Kunafa Chocolate reach Indian travellers through Cochin Duty Free.
“This launch is a meaningful step in our international travel retail journey. India is a priority market, and we couldn’t ask for a better partner than Kreol to bring this product to life. Kunafa Chocolate was built to travel: it carries the soul of a beloved Middle Eastern tradition in a format that speaks to consumers everywhere.”
Crafted in Dubai, the chocolate reinterprets the traditional Middle Eastern Kunafa dessert, combining a crunchy centre layered with pistachio filling and coated in milk chocolate.
The product is available in two formats designed for different traveller needs: a 195g bar aimed at individual consumption and a larger 470g sharing pack developed specifically for duty-free and travel retail channels.
