Kreol Travel Retail unveils Marriott’s Christmas cake at Cochin Duty Free
Kreol Travel Retail has announced the launch of Courtyard by Marriott, Kochi city’s Christmas cake at Cochin Duty Free.
This traditional cake, crafted by Executive Chef Deepu Mohan of Courtyard by Marriott Cochin Airport Hotel, aims to bring festive cheer to travellers. The practice of cake mixing is an age-old festive tradition in Kerala where many kilograms of dry fruits, nuts, grains, and spices are combined to form a mixture. This mixture is soaked in alcoholic blends for some days to absorb all the flavours and aromas. When ready, it is poured into the cake batter from which the Christmas fruit cakes are baked.
The 900-gram Christmas cake is presented in an artisan-designed tin, making it an ideal gift for the holiday season. Two varieties are available: one with alcohol and one non-alcoholic. Inspired by traditional Kerala recipes, the cake offers a taste of home for many. This product is an additional offering for travellers, enhancing their festive experience.
